About Verity IA, LLC

Verity IA began as an image analysis consulting firm, building special software in 1995. The specialized software soon became an industry need and a product line and company were born. The early products were for the recovered fiber segment of the paper industry where the measurement of dirt and stickies in both the white (MOW) and brown (OCC) was necessary. Later Verity IA’s technology moved in to those cross over areas of paper and print and the measurement of dot gain, print mottle and the separation of colors for the measurement of mottle in “Trapped” two color print where necessary.

Roy Rosenberger is the founder of Verity IA. He received his B.A. from Pennsylvania State University in State College in 1958 and a M.B.A. in Finance from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY in 1980. He spent most of his career serving the pulp and paper industry and has been granted several patents ranging from process control to ink jet print quality analysis.

Verity IA has developed automatic color image analysis systems for the measurement of pulp recovered fiber contaminants, stickies, linerboard OCC contaminants and rotogravure missing dots using image analysis techniques he developed and some that are standards.

The development by Verity IA of the unique “Stochastic Frequency Distribution Analysis” (SFDA) has pushed the company into new fields of print analysis. The integration of image texture measurement with its spatial distribution into one algorithm has served turned the art of mottle measurement into a science. SFDA has allowed us to develop such products as ink jet print quality, calender blackening, flexographic mottle, offset back-trap and wet trap mottle, and top-coat liner mottle that are used world-wide.

“If you can see it, Verity IA can measure it!”
