The Verity IA Dirt Counter employs the latest in color image analysis techniques to produce high accuracy measurements of dirt and other visible contaminants in paper and pulp. It is designed with a simple interface that allows the scanning of images to measure the results with one click of a button.

This affordable dirt counter is a version of the successful Verity IA Area & Shape tool, with a set of features suitable for paper mills and recovered fiber operations. The Dirt Counter measures contaminants that contrast either lighter or darker than the substrate such as:

  • Dirt See Dirt Count Paper
  • Brown - Wax and shives
  • Black - ink
  • White - coated broke and Styrofoam
  • Stickies when used with RMD Wet Specimen Technique + Other Techniques
  • Measured contaminants can be sorted by size, shape and luminance value (brightness).
